Catnip (Nepeta cataria), belongs to the mint family, its main active ingredient is nepetalactone, the plant terpenoid present in the catnip , that affects the central nervous system in both cats and humans (although in different ways).   you can certainly  smoke catnip, its effectiveness varies form people to  people.
